The American Academy of Bereavement (AAB) is a national association devoted to the education, preparation and advancement of bereavement specialists. AAB, founded in 1993, serves its members by providing educational opportunities and a communication forum for promoting excellence in bereavement care. Through seminars, networking, newsletters and conferences, members are able to discuss the challenges and rewards of their unique work.

The AAB's parent company, CMI Education Institute, recently moved from Buffalo, NY to Eau Claire, WI to take advantage of a new relationship with PESI, LLC, the nation's largest provider of continuing education to mental health professionals.
